Frequently Asked Questions
Are your cleaning solutions safe for my home, family and pets?
How long will my carpet take to dry?
After our Ultra Clean service, carpets are left just slightly damp to the touch. Most carpets usually dry in 4-5 hours. However any areas that require additional cleaning or preconditioning may take longer to dry. If drying time is a concern, we can take special steps to try to speed this process up for you.
Does your cleaning include stain removal?
Can you treat pet stains and pet odor issues?
Are the prices based on room sizes?
No. Our prices are based on the number of rooms, stairs, and hallways . Our staff can provide an exact quote right over the phone. Please see our reviews, we are not a nickel and dime shop.
What do I have to do in preparation of my service?
-Open the blinds and curtains in the rooms to be cleaned so we get as much light on the upholstery as possible.
-Turn ceiling fans on to encourage fast drying times.
Are there any other reasons to have my carpets cleaned other than getting the dirt out?
Yes. As you probably know outdoor air contains pollens, fungus, bacteria, air pollution, cigarette smoke, car exhaust, and hundreds of other chemicals. When your family enters your home, you draw those pollens, bacteria, and chemicals into your home as well as carrying them in on your clothing and shoes. Not surprisingly, all those contaminants wind up you guessed it in your carpet.
You also have interior sources of pollution. Cooking oils, heating system soot, millions of dust mites, their carcasses, and feces are just piling up in your carpeting.
Tobacco smoke contains 4000 different chemicals 43 of which cause cancer. Even when you don’t smoke, those chemicals get on your shoes and get tracked onto your carpet. If you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke, you may find you’ll breathe easier after you hire the right company to remove those harmful chemicals of your carpet.
Many of our customers who have allergies, asthma, emphysema, and other breathing problems have noticed a dramatic improvement in their breathing after a thorough carpet cleaning.
Where do your services cover?
Are all carpet cleaning methods the same?
No. You can choose from two primary methods: Dry cleaning or hot water extraction.
Shaw industries, the world’s largest carpet manufacturer, recommends hot water extraction which forces a hot water cleaning solution under high pressure into the carpet and then sucks it back out. This method is also referred to as steam cleaning though steam is not used.
As a consumer, you can choose from two types: portable extraction which is done with a small machine or truck mount extraction which means the large cleaning machine is mounted inside a truck or van.
Not surprisingly, most truck mounted units clean much better because the water is heated to a much higher temperature and shoots the cleaning solution into the carpet at a much higher pressure. That, in turn, breaks up the dirt, oils, bacteria and pollens. Then a very powerful suction draws the dirt out of the carpet. At Fiber Clean, we also pre-treat your carpet with powerful traffic lane cleaners prior to the basic cleaning. Doing so will suspend the ground in soils so your carpet comes out much cleaner after the normal cleaning process.
